SARS eFiling Tax Practitioner Auto-assessment New to tax

I forgot to submit some documents to SARS - what must I do now?

If you left out some documents in your original submission to SARS, don’t panic.

SARS has recently implemented a new process to submit documents online (other than via eFiling).

You can follow these easy steps:

1.Go to sars.gov.za

2.Scroll down to the popular searches at the bottom and click on ‘How do I submit supporting documents?”

3. Scroll down and click the link:

4. Complete all the details in the online form that opens.

Query type – make sure that Supporting Documents Upload is selected.

Case number - it is very important that you use the correct case number so that SARS links your documents to your tax return. You can find the case number to use by going back to your tax return in eFiling and opening the letter in which SARS originally requested your documents. The description of this letter is ‘Requirement to Submit Supporting Documents’.

5. Click on the button to add your documents.

6. Finally, click on the button to submit.
