I was advised by my HR department to fill in the amount from code 4001 next to code 4006 as well for my retirement annuity. SARS has however disallowed code 4006. Why would it be disallowed?
I currently have a Pension and Provident fund. Thank you

That is incorrect, the company should not have given you that information. Pension Funds, RAs and Provident Funds are entirely different things for SARS purposes currently with different source codes. Unfortunately SARS were correct to disallow that.
