I am 73 years old and cannot live on my pension so I have gone back to work. How much am I allowed to earn to be exempted? Is there no exceptions for the people over 70?

You need to have earned less than R99 056 for the 2013 year which is the threshold for those taxpayers between 65-75. For 2014 it is R104 611. Earning below this threshold means you are not liable to pay tax to SARS.
