Is it a must that each and every person must register to SARS when they are employed?

Yes, if you are employed and your employer is deducting PAYE and/or UIF from your earnings, you will need to be registered with SARS and have a tax reference number.

If you earn below the tax threshold which is currently R73,650 per year, you don't however, need to submit a tax return.
