You are able to deduct from your income, contributions to a retirement annuity fund, pension fund and an income protection fund. You are also able to deduct small asset items such as a computer which you own, but you use for work purposes. You may also claim any donations made to Charities, provided they are registered with SARS and if you can claim money against your tax owing if you contribute to a medical aid.
