My Company has made use of a shipping agent to clear our containers however, I am told that we can claim the vat on this (when the shipper has paid for it already) We have not paid the agent our self, Is it possible to claim this vat? even though we have not paid the Agent.

VAT is claimable on items used to produce taxable supplies. So if you are a VAT vendor and you charge VAT on the good sold then yes you can claim the VAT even if it has not been paid to the agent yet.
