I earned a SA salary and lived in SA until September last year, afterwards I went back abroad/overseas to my home country and worked there. I already submitted my SARS ITR12 form and I did not mention my foreign earned salary income because it is already taxed abroad and I also could not find the section to add this amount on the ITR12 form. Now my ITR12 form is under verification and I have to submit all relevant forms. Does SARS need my foreign payment slips and do they need my foreign bank statement with the interests? I declared a few rands which I earned on my foreign bank account which is below the threshold. On the ITR12 form I put my old address where I have close relatives in SA but currently I do not live in SA anymore. Thank you for your help.
Are you not South African? How long were you in SA for?

I am a foreign national and I was in RSA from beginning of 2011 until September 2012.
Thank you and regards

You won't need to include anything other than the tax certificate (IRP5) received from your local employer. Only SA sourced base income would be taxable for you as you are not a tax resident of SA.

Great support !! Thank you for your information. Should I tell SARS in the verification process my new address abroad in order to show that I am not a SA tax resident? In the ITR12 form I still wrote my old SA address.
Thank you very much.

The address won't matter really, but you can inform them of this. In fact if this is your last return to be filed in SA you can deregister as a South African taxpayer.
Thanks for the support of the site!
