How do I "unregister" from the requirement to submit an annual tax return?

I have in the past submitted a tax return (ITR12) annually as required but I have now retired and my annuity & pension income is now less than R60 000.00 per annum.

My questions are as follows:
1) Do I still have to submit an income tax return.
2) If not then what process must I follow to get "deregistered"?

You do not need to submit a return anymore, you could go to SARS and prove you no longer are required to submit a return. However for completeness sake and to avoid having to re-register for a tax number in the future should you need a tax number, you can submit a return, but will not need to pay any tax.
