Question # 133519: Can you be charged for a tax certificate?

Hi there. Is it legal or acceptable for a bank to charge customers for their IT3b tax certificates?
Are there any instances where charging for tax certificate is allowed?

Unfortunately, this is not a service that we provide, we currently only assist with provisional & income tax return submissions to SARS. Please contact your bank as they will be able to assist you.

Also, you should have been sent these either via email, post or have an online profile which allows you access the IT3B certificates as financial institutions have to issue clients their annual certificates at no charge, unless you are requesting certificates for older tax years, then they are unfortunately entitled to charge you for these reprints.

Thank you Alicia, appreciate it. That was the answer I was looking for. I just think Faika misunderstood the question as seeking this service from TaxTim, so no harm done.
