Outstanding Taxes Sequestration

Hi
I was sequestrated in 2015, of late though I was receiving SMS notifications that SARS has issued correspondence, I login and find no correspondence what so ever. I called the call centre and they informed me that its for outstanding taxes dated back to 1990, on my profile all tax types are not active on the old Tax number before sequestration, she says on their side it shows as active. Further to this on logging in there are like 5 profiles for me under my new Tax number only one is active though. However I have not been able to submit any returns either. Is this something you can assist with cleaning up the profiles and resolving why taxes prior to 2015 are still in play?

We are unfortunately not able to offer assistance with cleaning up the profiles on your SARS eFiling profile as this is not possible on a normal SARS eFiling profile, SARS should however be able to assist with this.

Regarding your old tax reference number, it might have been reactivated once your sequestration was remedied, SARS should have informed you of this, but once again this is something they can fix for you.

Please setup an appointment with their call centre or if you are able to make an appointment to sit down with them in person, you can use this link to set it up: SARS Appointment

For the appointment please send SARS a signed letter explaining that you had met all your filing obligations on your new tax reference number and that they should rather deactivate the older tax reference number.

When you have the SARS consultant either in person or telephonically also ask them to fix your SARS eFiling profile via their internal system and delete the other profiles from your SARS eFiling account.

Thank you will seek an appointment can they collect the tax still for before my sequestration ? I received a new Tax number in 2018 from them.

They should not be able to collect anything prior to the date of the sequestration as this was included in the insolvent estate thus they issued you a new tax number after your tax file was sent to the estates department within SARS.
