Do I have a tax number?

I'm a government employee for about 11 months now and I have never registered for a tax number but they do deduct a tax in my income, does that means I do have a tax number?

They may have created a tax number for you. Please contact 0800 00 7277 in order to find out if you are registered with SARS.
