Medical aid - can I deduct for my father?

My parents who are financially dependent on me have a medical aid where my father is the main member and mother is the dependent. Each month I am responsible for the monthly payments towards their medical aid. They are however on a separate medical aid from myself. Can I claim for a tax return? If so how do I go about doing it? Thank you

Yes, if you pay the medical expenses of a dependent, then you can claim the benefit via your own Tax Return. In the opening questions of your Tax Return, you need to answer "yes" to the question asking if you contribute to a medical aid.
In the Medical Aid section of you Tax Return, you then need to then complete all the details per the Tax Certificate received from their Medical Aid.

If SARS does request proof, you need to supply them with the certificate from the Medical Aid and be prepared to justify why you pay their medical aid for them.
