Hey Taxtim. I submitted my tax returns on the 10th of July this year. SARS informed me that I would get a refund of about R17000, which I desperately need. After a few days I called them to ask when I might receive this refund, they informed me that they are not going to give it to me yet as I have outstanding tax returns for 2012.
I did not have this issue last year when I filled or the previous year. I worked for a company from February 2011 until August 2011, I was never issued an IRP5 or any payslip. ...

I am not sure if my employer registered me, but I never received any tax documents or tax number. In February 2015 I started a new job with a higher salary. My yearly salary now puts me above the threshold and my new employer registered me and I've been paying tax since Feb. But since I only did this job for 1 month of the last tax year, my yearly income for 2014/2015 tax year remains under the threshold of R70 700. ...

I have been requested by SARS to complete a tax return for 2012 as I did not complete one at the time as I lived and worked in the UK for the entire 2012 tax period. In response to SARS request, I submitted a nil tax return and have now been requested to supply supporting documentation.
I am not sure what supporting documentation to supply - the lady at the SARS call centre said I need to get an affadavit from t...

Hi Tim,
I have submitted my Irp5 at a SARS office which I have received June 2015. They informed me that I am being audited and that I had to submit certain documents which I did. After submitting the consultant told me that my tax return would be paid out in 3 working days. It had been more than a week so I phoned SARS to ask what is taking so long. They then informed me that because I was audited the pay out will take 30 days and also that I have an outstanding IRP5 from 2010 that I have to submit that before I can receive my tax return. ...

My previous tax number is listed as insolvent and SARS assisted me with a new IT77 application for a new tax number, I was made aware that since the insolvency that SARS has money owing to me for the years that followed. They advised that they will transfer those funds onto the new tax number and then I will receive my rebate. Once I get the new tax number I can then submit my last IRP5 to the new tax number as well. Happy with that.
My question is how long does it take SARS to issue...
