I receive a salary from Taiwan, but pay tax there. What do I do?

  Written by Marc

I have recently returned from overseas and I'm planning to stay in South Africa. I'm about to start teaching online for a Taiwanese company and will be taxed 18% in Taiwan if I make more than $893 with them (which I plan to do). The amount in my bank account every month should be between R7 000 and R10 000. If I have to pay full taxes on that, I was thinking of keeping back about 25%, but I first want to find out whether there are any lenience I can get since I'm already taxed in Taiwan....

  Written by Marc

Tax is collected because the government needs to pay for all the services it provides the people of the country.
