An inheritance is received by a South African resident following the death of a family member in the UK. The bulk of these funds remain in the recipient's bank account in the UK, with some funds being transferred from time to time, when needed. How is this situation viewed by SARS? Is it necessary to declare this foreign asset together with the annual interest, bearing in mind that the funds originated in the UK, and as a result of an inheritance

Hi Tim, I am a small business owner, my company is registered, I have no other employees at the moment. Should I pay myself a salary so as to avoid withdrawing from the business account for personal use. Should I register for PAYE? Do I have to pay individuals tax too if I am registerd for PAYE? The business income is my only source of income?

I submitted my provisional income tax documents at the end of Feb 2016 for the tax year March2015-Feb2016 and made payment on the amount declared. I would now like to complete my ITR12 for this same year- how do I know that this form takes into account the amount that I have already paid for the earnings in this period? Is there a place where I need to fill that in? I do not want to pay tax on the same amount twice.

Where do I find the unique identifier required for ITR12? I realise it relates to my profession (occupational therapist), but am unsure how to get this. I have not been allocated one in previous years.
