I have been working here in South Africa since 2012 and paying my income tax, but I have not filled in a tax return even once, so may I start filling a tax return now? I do have my tax number.

On 01/07/2014 I have submitted my returns and then I was selected for audit the next day later I submitted my supportive doc.31 days later I received a letter from SARS which state verification of assessment is complete. My friend's eFiling was completed and she is the main member of her medical scheme with 2 children also on her medical aid. She made a mistake putting the amount in that she pay for the contributions for her medical. It was suppose to be R1 750-00 and I put R17 500-00 I submitt it and then I saw the error, is there any way that she can reverse it?

My Statement of account says I'm being audited. I have already submitted support documents for depreciation a day after my return. A week later I received my statement of account and it says that I'll be refunded, but also says yes under audit and verification. What happens from here on?

Tim, With reference to the blog posted by yourself : What?%u20AC%u2122s the delay with getting my SARS Refund? I would like to know what could typically flag this type of audit? The documents I submitted was nothing out of the ordinary and it has now been 2 months since I filed my return - the audit were concluded on the 8th of August 2014. If this is an automated tool why is the turnaround time 30-60 days?

I still stay with my parents and have to go verify banking details at SARS. They sent me back to fill in a CRA01 form because the address is not in my name. My question is do I fill in the form or my parents fill it in?

Submit tax return without IRP5

My ex-employer hasn't given me an IRP5 yet and it doesn't look like I will get one. I do have one IRP5 for 9 months of the tax season from a different employer. Can I submit my tax return without the outstanding IRP5? I was told to get an affidavit from the police station stating that I was not given an IRP5 for the 3 months from my ex-employer.
