Tim, With reference to the blog posted by yourself : What?%u20AC%u2122s the delay with getting my SARS Refund? I would like to know what could typically flag this type of audit? The documents I submitted was nothing out of the ordinary and it has now been 2 months since I filed my return - the audit were concluded on the 8th of August 2014. If this is an automated tool why is the turnaround time 30-60 days?

Submit tax return without IRP5

My ex-employer hasn't given me an IRP5 yet and it doesn't look like I will get one. I do have one IRP5 for 9 months of the tax season from a different employer. Can I submit my tax return without the outstanding IRP5? I was told to get an affidavit from the police station stating that I was not given an IRP5 for the 3 months from my ex-employer.

I'm still waiting for SARS to verify my registration. It's been a week and it still has not been verified. And once I close the notification for my ITR12 it says awaiting document upload?

Can you please assist me. I have noticed that my medical tax credits on my IRP5 is incorrect. What would the reason be for the different amount on my IRP5? Can I change it to the correct amount according to the number of dependents including me on my medical aid certificate? I am sure if I change it SARS will them audit me, which will be fine as I can provide the medical aid certificate stating the number of dependents.

I filed my return for 2014 and was due for a refund,then my statement showed an outstanding return for 2007,which I had initially filed in 2008 but it appeared there was a technical error. I then called SARS and e-mailed the error message to them and they fixed the problem and issued a revised return which I then filed on the 13th of August 2014(using the self help option with a consultant from SARS. I resigned from my employer in the 2014 y.o.a and took the full withdrawal from my provident fund with the company. The IRP5 received from the company does not include the retirement lump sum benefit received. Would it be correct to include the lump sum payment under code 3901 and claim a deduction as per the directive under code 4115?
