Hi TimAwesome forum here very informative.Well this is my saga, I submitted my return on the 1st July 14. I am self employed, I work as a contractor and I was recently told by my accountant to keep all my slips and I just confirmed with him that all my expenses are on my bank statements, as those are my proof of payments, I also enter the information into Pastel online, that lets me track my personal expenses, because those slips just end up fading, so I throw the slips away.

Both my wife and I are employed taxpayers. Her gross salary is in the order of 24000/month and mine is in the order of 34000/month as of January 1st of next year (it's slightly less at the moment). My original tax assessment was submitted on 29 July. SARS requested for supporting documentation and this was uploaded through eFiling on 30 July. On 6 August a document named "Statement of Account: Assessed Tax" was uploaded to my eFiling profile, but I have not received any notification or payment from SARS.
