Delay of payment of tax refund for 2015

I submitted my tax return to SARS via SARS eFiling for 2015 on time. The Tax Calculator indicated that the amount of R7584. 18 was due to me. This was confirmed by the SARS Notice of Assessment dated 2 February 2016. I quote from the correspondence as part of the Notice of Assessment: Your assessment has been concluded and reflects an amount refundable to you of R -7584. 18. Please note that this amount only reflects your income tax assessment and does not reflect tax payable under any previous assessment or any other balances on your account. PAYE unaccounted for

I've been working for a company for the past 2 and a half years. I've been paid a monthly salary of R6500 before deductions. I was recently asked by our company's HR assistant, for my tax number. I was under the impression that I'd already been registered - on my payslip it states that I've been paying R45 tax. I contacted SARS gave in my details and they informed me that I wasn't registered. Joe turned 65 in June 2015. He earned R240 000. 00 during tax year, and there was no other deductions from salary. He contributed R6 000. 00 during the year to private medical aid. And R30 000. 00 of other medical expenses. What is the amount he can claim on his tax return.?

My son started as a independent contractor March 2015 and has not paid tax. He earned R10k for 2 months and R5k for the rest of the year. He got paid a lump sum of R80k when the job was done. He is going to SARS but what tax or penalties can he expect

I have a client who is the director of a small company (pty). Currently the profit of the company is less than R50 000. He has no other income. The PTY is registered for tax and and has submitted tax returns. The director is not registered for income tax. If he declares the R50 000 as his salary does he even need to submit a tax return as he is below the threshold?

Acrobat reader does not work on SARS filing

I have a weird SARS eFiling problem in that on my new computer I am told to upgrade my Adobe Acrobat version in order to read correspondence, whereas I never have a problem with any other Acrobat attachments.

I was the Executor of my late Sisters estate. She passed away in 2007-it was an estate of R300k so no duty payable. One Insurance company somehow say they have a policy in favour of the Deceased. I do not have her Tax number and a Tax consultant tried to find a tax number but came up blank. They want a tax number before paying out.

I have just opened a PTY. I do not know what my turnover will be. It might be between R 500 - R 400 000 per annum. 1) Do I need to register for provisional tax and when?

My tax assessment SARS did not split my rental income 50% as I am married in community of property as was indicated on my tax return, Lodged an objection, but it took so long that I had to pay the incorrect amount in, it was R126,000. My objection was allowed and SARS paid me back the R126,000. But they had this money for 2 months and did not pay me any interest. Should they not pay me interest?, it was there mistake.

I haven't officially emigrated but live in the UK and have subsequently discovered that I am not registered for tax in SA. This has implications for my my investments over there - is it possible as an individual to register as a tax payer without actually living in SA? I have several employees that need tax numbers. They are all Zim Nationals on an Asylum visa. How do I get them Tax numbers? Can I apply to SARS on their behalf, in bulk without them going to the SARS offices.

I am a temporary employee with three months contract in a municipality. I earn R37. 50 per hour and get paid on monthly basis. Last month my employer taxed me 18% on my salary. I worked for 160 hours. Is this the right percentage they used? please advise me on the applicable tax law for temporary employees.

2016 delayed verification

I submitted my Tax tax returns at a SARS branch on the 25th of Feb. I was missing one document and supplied it to the branch the following day. My tax returns were triggered for verification, both the ladies who assisted me told me it takes up to 21 days, I called a few times with my case numbers and the call centre told me 60 days - this is ridiculous, as all the documents were supplied and I was not advised of this by the staff at the branch. What can I do about this?
