I am starting a new job next month and at my previous work I received a IRP5 form but my annual salary was below R60000, so it wasn't necessary to register for tax. Now at the new job I am going to get above R60000 annually. So now the new employer needs my tax number. Is it the reference number? or should I still register for tax?

Can I distribute dividends on the DTR01 form to more than 99 beneficieries ?

I have a query regarding the DWT01 form on e-filing, we need to distribute dividends to /- 154 beneficiaries and according to my knowledge you can only select 99 beneficiaries to distribute to on the DWT01 form.

Will we able to distribute to more than 99 beneficiaries on the DTR01 form on a single period?

What would happen if you have no income tax number and have not submitted returns for 5 years. What happens when you withdraw?

Hi TimI filed my wife's tax return on 20/11/2014. SARS then requested supporting documentation which we provided. In mid December they issued us with a completion letter stating that they would not be amending our return but that they retain the right to do so in the future. This was followed up with a Statement of Account on December 24th. We are yet, however, to receive any refund from SARS. I am a freelance artist, sometimes I don't get my RIP5 and I spend months sometimes without a job, maybe a year, so how do you deal with people like me who are tax and have tax number but can't find the IRP5 when we required to bring it? What happens to us don't we get our return back? Should one forget about tax?

I had a question about weather I need to file a tax return for 2014. I have lived outside of SA for 15 years and completed financial emigration last year when I closed a retirement annuity. The amt I received was very small (under R25 000). I did not receive/earn any other income. I did not pay tax on the amt I received as it was below the threshold. I still need to deactivate my tax number. Could you please let me know if it is necessary to file a SARS return for 2014. Thanks!

I understand that I can claim deductions for charitable donations to a registered PBO (with a section 18A certificate) up to 10% of my taxable income. I am wondering whether I will receive the full value of my donation back with my tax refund or only a portion of it. I like the idea of donating up to 10% of my taxable income, as I will have a say in where it goes. However, this will be a sizeable portion of my income and can only do this if I'm sure of receiving the income back in my tax refund.

I've just registered (jan 2015)my small business no serious and amount has been made yet, but we have up coming projects. Its an events company should I register it with SARS or as I read after it has made a million??

Question 2: I have 2 employees that requested payslips, how do I P.A.Y.E since I don't have a PAYE number? Or did CIPC informed SARS about the company?

Hi Tim..I submitted my outstanding returns for 2012 on the 02 Dec and 2013 on the 09th Dec. The first one was selected for verification/audit and I submitted the supporting doc on the 3rd, there was a refund due of r971. The second one reflected a refund due to me of r13k, and was not selected for audit as per the notice that is viewable on efiling. Hi there,

I filed my return in September and was asked to submit supporting documents. I did this and received a completion letter. Then I was told my refund is under review and to wait thirty to sixty days. This period has now passed and the matter was escalated two weeks ago...I was told that I would receive feedback within 5 days. Yet...still no refund or feedback. So frustrating speaking to the call centre consultants...They give conflicting information and no one can tell me why SARS is not paying my refund. It's been 3 months......

The result of my assessment shows that I owe SARS money. They have selected me for an audit / verification. I have submitted the supporting documents manually to a SARS branch. SARS could take 90 days to conduct the verification process. Should I pay SARS now, or wait and see what the result of their audit is, and only pay when they get back to me, i.e. maybe in 3 months time.
