How to track your tax return's status

SARS have recently introduced a new way to track your tax return online via the SARS website.

See TaxTim's step-by-step guide to help you nagivate this new process:

1. Please go to the SARS website www.sars.gov.za click on "Contact Us"

2. Scroll down the page then click on "Tax Return Status Dashboard"

3. Tick the bubble saying "Myself" under the option saying "I'd like to see the Tax Return Status Dashboard for:"

4. Now, enter your personal details (name, surname, tax and ID numbers) and click on "Verify Me"

5. SARS will then ask you where they can send the OTP to:

Enter the OTP and SARS will display the auto assessment (if applicable) as well as your Statement of Account.
