If I am self-employed - how do I claim for travel expense when completing my Tax tax return?

Do you drive your own car and if so, approximately how many kms per year?

I drive my own car. Approximately 20 000 km per year of which 10000 are business travel.

You can claim travel expenses based on the business km's travelled X SARS prescribed rate which is currently R3.18 per km. Please ensure you keep a logbook to justify the business km's travelled. You can include this expense within the "Local Business Trade and Professional income" section of your Tax tax return.
