Previously unemployed: Should I still file?

I wasn't employed from May 2013 till July 2015. Should I still file my tax return even if I don't have an IRP5 as I wasn't working?

It would be best to file a nil tax return and just indicate that you were unemployed so that you have an unbroken filing history with SARS. SARS have been known to withhold refunds later on due to unfiled tax returns in the past. Please see How to submit a nil tax return.
