MEDICAL AID CONTRIBUTION CLAIM FOR UNEMPLYED HOUSEWIFE?

CAN YOU CLAIM FOR MEDICAL AID CONTRIBUTIONS IF YOU WERE UNEMPLOYED. IM A HOUSEWIFE AND THE MEDICAL AID IS ON MY NAME. I GET AN "ALLOWANCE" YOU CAN SAY FROM MY HUSBAND. AND WOULD I HAVE TO SHOW THE ALLOWANCE ON MY TAX RETURN

If you are unemployed and pay no taxes as you have no income then there is nothing to claim the medical deduction against.
