Peter says: 3 June 2015 at 12:43 Merely replacing the fence, and the original fence is of better quality than the replacement fence, so I have gained nothing but have lost as I could not afford to put another original fence in . I have retained a photo of the old fence for SARS to compare. |

TaxTim says: 5 June 2015 at 9:45 Generally SARS will not allow this an improvement which means you cannot add this to your base cost if you do sell the property, but they will allow you to claim this as a deduction/expense against the rental income earned. |
