Do public sector employees get a rebate on medical aid contributions not subsidized by the state?

Do you get a tax rebate if you contribute to a private Medical Aid like Discovery Health if you work in the public sector and do you qualify for a tax rebate on funds not recovered from the medical aid but reflected on the tax certificate provided by the medical aid?
