I recently accepted an offer to be permanently employed at the same company I was contracting at initially, do I now became a provisional tax payer as I paid employees tax before?

You will still be required to pay employees tax if you are permanently employed.
If you earn any other income other than your salary you will be required to register with SARS as a provisional tax payer.
