Changing jobs for taxes?

How will SARS know that I changed jobs? Apparently you get a return if you changed jobs but it's not formed part of the calculation? How does this work?

You will not automatically receive a refund, this would only happen where you overpaid in taxes. Please make use of our Tax refund calculator to see if you are due a refund. You can also Register for TaxTim and let us help you complete and file your tax return with SARS.
