Can't acquire irp5 from previous employer before emigration

My previous employer liquidated on 12 February this year & the liquidation hasn't been completed yet. I am scheduled to move to work in Dubai in mid April on a 3 year non binding contract and I am wondering what would be the best solution to file my tax returns for the 2016 tax year?

Just in case I am unable to acquire the liquidators details before I leave for Dubai? Or what can I do if the liquidator does not send me the IRP5?

If you are unable to obtain your IRP5, you can go to your local police station and Swear an affidavit and submit this to SARS together with payslips / bank statements which would justify your earnings for the year.

If you are going to be out of the country from 1 July until filing season closes (30 November) you may need to use the services of a tax practitioner to submit these documents to SARS on your behalf in the event that you are unable to obtain the IRP5 and have to go the affidavit route.
