Can we decide what month we will have a year end close on?

Simple question, but I need to know. SARS advised me that a Company I registered will have to submit VAT returns every second month, but on the odd month, eg. March, May, July and so on. Can I then for no other reason make the year end March and not at the end of February?

You can change the year end of your company with CIPC if you need to in order to align with SARS.
