Can I not use proof of address from shops like Jet?

I submitted my tax returns manually and they sent me an sms that said,there was R323 that was due to me. I gave my banking details, they sent me a letter that I must verify my banking details .I went to SARS with my bank statement and a proof of residence of my Jet account, but they said they would not use that one. Now my problem is that i'm a tenant and my Landlord does not have a current proof of residence, he only has the one from May 2013. Will they accept that one?

You can take your lease if it less than 12 months old as proof of address.
