However in most cases the employer does take off 25% of the amount paid to you and pays it over to SARS which you will get refunded at year end. Are you under the threshold? |

TaxTim says: 29 October 2012 at 17:29 Have the council made you sign anything saying they are not withholding tax? You would either have signed something or they should have been deducting PAYE. I suggest going to your HR person and asking why they have not deducted tax. Let me know and then I can assist from there? |
