Update Banking Details for a refund from SARS

Good morning,

I am no longer banking with the bank I used during 2023 and am trying to update my details on SARS eFiling. So far, I have successfully added my new bank and this has been verified by SARS. However, I am unable to remove my old banking details, and select my new bank as the primary transaction account for payments from SARS. Do I need to wait to file my 2024 tax return to effect this change?

Please do the following:
  1.  Login to your SARS eFiling profile
  2. Click on "Home" on the top menu
  3. Click on "Registered Details" on the left menu and then "Maintain SARS Registered Details"
  4. Tick the "I Agree" option and click on "Continue" and then on "Proceed"
  5. Choose the "My Tax products" option and then click on "Income Tax"
  6. Click on the line item with your tax number
  7. Scroll down and click on the "Tax Type Demographics" option and then click on "Bank Account Details"
  8. You should then be able to "Select from my bank accounts" list for the new bank account
  9. Update accordingly and click on submit form.
  10.  You can then go back to the bank details section of your RAV01 to delete the old banking details.
Should your banking details not show in the list mentioned in point 8, you can still manually add your banking details in this section by clicking on the "My Tax products" option.
