There are roamers stating that if you work outside SA (offshore and not shore based) and your income is foreign based you do not require the 60 day period as indicated in section 10 o or 10 (1)o and in some instances don't even require the 183 day if you have been tax exempt for more that 5 years continuously . Please could you shed some light on these roamers..

I need help with declaring income from admob.
I've been developing apps and have recently been receiving a good income stream from admob, paid to me via PayPal.
Would it be better to register a company?
Or should I continue receiving the money in a personal capacity?

I am a UK passport holder and a Permanent Resident of SA. I intend returning to the UK but am not sure of this being permanent, so will not officially be emigrating.
The only assets left in SA will be a monthly amount paid into my SA bank account from a Living Annuity. Can I access this amount whilst living in the UK. What are the advantages/disadvantages of just leaving SA and officially emigrating?

Freelance earning under R60 000 p/a. What tax do I pay?

Written by Marc
Posted 3 January 2013
Hi,
I work on a freelance basis. I have one regular client who deducts tax from my pay (@ 23% of invoiced amount).
Other clients pay me in full.
I earned less that R60 000 in the 2012 tax year as I was abroad for most of the year.
As far as I understand, I should not have to pay any tax as I have earned less that R60 000? But I should be reimbursed for the tax I paid through client?
What tax forms do I need to complete?
Thanks
Notice of Objection via efiling

I want to dispute the outcome of an assessment. I am using SARS efiling. I completed the form, but when I try to file it, I get errors about mandatory data. But this relates to the 'Particulars of representative' section. I don't have a representative - I'm dealing with this on my own.
What am I supposed to fill in?
Also, all my supporting documentation has already been submitted for the assessment. Do I have to resubmit the same documentation again for the dispute?

1. Is the sale of the software and/or IPR and/or a patent considered a capital gain?
2. Is it is a capital gane, can we sale those in our private capacity?
3. How if this taxed in case that we receive 200k per person each year for a period of 5 years?
Thank you

There are still 3 more returns outstanding that I have to submit to SARS, but they are all zero - do I have to follow your questionnaire again? They are for 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the costs are the same as before so I don't need to any calculations again.
