How long to wait for refund after change of banking details at a SARS branch?

  Written by Marc

Afternoon, I submitted my IRP5 at SARS Springs branch on Tuesday 2/09/2014 and I got an sms that there's money due to me few minutes after submitting. Then I went back to SARS Springs on Friday 5/09/2014 to change my banking details because I realized that I have changed my account from savings to cheque last year November but didn't update/ change it with SARS. I would like to know if it's still going to take 48hours to get my refund paid out into my account.

Use of employer Owned cellphone for fringe benefit purposes?

  Written by Marc

We have entered into 20 cellphone contracts with a service provider this month. We will be giving our staff members employer owned handsets to use for work purposes ie business calls, work emails. These will come with R100 airtime, 300MB of data, 25 sms per month. We will be paying R280 per phone pm.

Please advise on whether this fringe benefit is fully taxable. Someone from SARS just told me that it is but I don't believe him.

Still no refund paid 1.5 months after completion letter from SARS.

  Written by Marc

I filed my tax return on 14-7-2014, got a completion letter on 25-7-2014 with an amount payable to me. On my eFiling tax workpage it says under Sars status: "Return ?%u20AC%u201C Data Submitted To ITS". They still didn't pay the money into my account. I phoned Sars and asked what the problem was and they only replied that it sometimes takes as long as 30 working days from the date of filing.
I still didn't get the money. What can I do next?
