When I use the SARS tax calculator, it shows at code 4008 an amount of R0,00?

My medical aid contribution was R 24 761 inserted under code 3810, how come my allowed medical deduction is R0?

The medical aid contribution now acts as a credit against your tax owed. The code 4008 is for out of pocket medical expenses and this is subject to a very complicated formula set by SARS. Look out tomorrow for our blog post about how this is calculated.
