Hello TaxTim, for the tax year 2015 I completed my ITR12 through e-filing on the 26-11-2015, including my disability totals. The same day I received the ITA34 but not reflecting my disability & medical costs. I also received a letter to submit supporting documents the same day and did so on that same day. I also filed a NOO on the 10-12-2015 objecting the fact that they excluded the disability & medical claim/section, accompanied by the supporting documents. They send me an SMS that I have to pay as per ITA34 and on the 22-01-2016 they send me a letter of completion. In 2014 I had to go all the way through an ADR to get what they owed me and they agreed with full claim amount. What does this letter of completion actually mean and can they simply ignore my NOO and the declared disability & medical costs? What are my options?

Have you completed a ITR-DDR form with SARS?

Yes, that form has been signed and delivered back in 2010. Again in 2014 for whatever reason as it is a ones-off form, or requested specifically by SARS. For 2015 it was not requested.
I went to SARS to inquire about the letter olkf completion, while I filed for an NOO. SARS informed me that the letter has no meaning as long as the NOO is open and that is the status, so I will wait for them to get back to me.

OK, it would probably be best to submit the ITR-DDR form again for 2015 to support the disability claim.
Good luck and let us know if you need further help!
