I work for a company. I am contracted out to a client. I gather I can claim travel costs from work to the client? I have maintained a log book but I have not received a travel allowance on my payslip from my company. How do I claim the travel expenses?

Is more than 50% of your salary made up of commission?

Unfortunately SARS are very specific on when travel claims can be claimed i.e only if commission makes up over 50% of the overall amount earned.

Since you are using your car for business, you should be able to claim wear and tear on it.
Please make use of our Wear and Tear calculator to work out the wear and tear cost you can claim on your car. You will need to apportion for business versus personal use.
