To register as an employer for tax purposes or not?

If I employ a person who earns below the threshold, does the employee need to register for Income Tax or is it optional?

Do I need to fill out a EMP201 form regardless?

If I employ cleaning staff twice a week, would I have to have a EMP201 form or not?

SARS requests that all employees have to register for a tax number - they can do it by clicking the link and finding out How to get a SARS tax number

If your staff are earning below the threshold, you still need to deduct UIF, but you can do this by filing a return with uFiling instead.
