Tax with bonus?

If you earn R5500 a month and in December you get bonus of R5500 as well as your pay for that month. How do you work out how much tax you pay.

There are two methods, the most common being that the bonus us added to the monthly income and applied against the tax tables which results in higher tax, but a refund when you file your return. Otherwise your employer will work out your average tax rate and apply it against the bonus.
