Spiritual Counseling outside of medical aid

As a Spiritual Counselor who has a BA in Counselling, but who is not registered as a health care professional with medical aids, as it is more a spiritual than medical. I have clients who would like to know if they can add my receipts to their tax claims at the end of the year. When the Spiritual Counselling was removed from the medical claims alot of clients do not want to go to conventional psychologists, but prefer continuing with me. Can they claim from SARS like their fuel log books? Is there a way so that clients can claim tax returns?

Thanks Duncan

Unfortunately not - SARS is strict in this regard and only allows for the following medical claims to be submitted for tax purposes:

- "For professional services rendered and medicines supplied by a registered medical practitioner, dentist, optometrist, homeopath, naturopath, osteopath, herbalist, physiotherapist, chiropractor or orthopaedist to you or any of your dependant(s)
- To a nursing home or hospital, or any duly registered or enrolled nurse, midwife or nursing assistant (or to any nursing agency in respect of the services of such a nurse, midwife or nursing assistant) in respect of the illness or confinement of the person or any dependant of the person"
