Please can you explain the source code 3698 - Gross non-funding retirement funding employment income on the SARS tax certificates.

This is the income earned from employment not related to a savings for retirement. So for example if you contribute towards a pension fund through your employer then the salary and continued income earned will be seen as "retirement funding employment income" whilst all other income is seen as non-retirement.
