Hi, South African passport holders who stays in Mauritius but will be going back to SA after nearly 5 yrs. At the moment they are considered non-residents as they are in Mauritius for a period of more than 60days in a period of 6 months and they have not stayed in SA for more than 91days in a row in a tax year. After how many months in SA will they be considered back as resident? And if they will start earning their salary in SA, do they pay tax from the beginning or after a period of time. Thank you

IF they are SA passport holders and intend staying in SA then immediately they will be considered tax residents of SA - provided they intend to stay longer than the 91 days.
