Registering for tax numbers on behalf of employees

Hi, is there any way that we as an employer can register our workers for tax numbers on their behalf. We have been struggling with this because they either do not know if they have a tax number or what it is, and getting them to go into a sars branch has been unsuccessful. As I understand the employer can be fined if their employees do not have tax numbers.

Yes, you can do this via SARS eFiling or easyFile. Your accountant or whomever manages your payroll should be able to do this for you.
