I am currently an independent consultant and I know I currently qualify as a provisional tax payer. Is there a way of paying my tax monthly (as a normal employee) by myself without having to pay the two major payment twice a year?

What is the nature of your work and client base? i.e. do you have multiple clients or or one or two big ones?

I have one client - who technically employs my services exclusively - in which case I think that would make me an employee? Since I receive all my remuneration only from them?

Do you work at their office and use their tools? Are you effectively "managed" by someone at the client? ie under their control and supervision?

Yes I work at their office; I have a "boss" so would that count as being managed?

Based on the arrangement you have described, it sounds like you would be perceived to be an "employee" by SARS and therefore your client should be withholding PAYE from your salary on a monthly basis.
It would be best to discuss this with them.
