You can claim any expenses incurred in earning your income. eg. travel, telephone, stationery, etc If these expenses relate to personal and business use, you must work out the portion of business usage as a % of the total and pro-rata accordingly. For travel claims, you will need to keep a logbook of your business kms travelled to justify the claim to SARS. You can then claim a % of the maintenance charges too.
