Newbie at efiling and not sure what all status, ITSA and ITA34 meaning are. Have I been audited?

Hi There,

I just filled by 2014 tax returned through eFiling and got an email from SARS stating I have a notification that needs by attention. This was regarding my 2012 tax return and it still needed to be submitted. I submitted it soon as possible. I received three emails from SARS, the first one stating that statement of account as been issued, ITSA for the period of 2012 - 2014 and the other two emails stating I have a ITA34 notice for 2014 and 2012. I opened these notifications and the only thing stated was the period and - amount. I also noticed on my tax return work page I had to submit supporting documents for the 2012 return. I was not sure what these documents were and phoned the call centre explaining that I needed to submit the IRP5 and Medical Aid tax certificate for that year, which I did immediately. A few hour a received an email again stating that a statement of account has been issued for 2012-2014.
I logged on to my eFiling account this morning and the following was stated: eFiling status: Assessment received, SARS Status: Return - Data submitted to ITS, Statement of Account: - R 6782.26.
My questions are what does the eFiling and SARS status mean - and after assessment has been received, how long does it take for assessment to be completed?, does this also mean that I have been audited, although it did not state it anywhere? After assessment has completed, will I only then receive my refund?

Everything needs to be completed by SARS in order for the refund to be paid. You can call SARS and check if everything has been finalised or else the normal procedure is 30 days after you upload your supporting documents.
