TaxTim says: 1 July 2015 at 7:07 Out of pocked medical expenses can be claimed for doctor's visits, operations, medical tests and prescription medication. If you paid for your son and he is under 26 and financially dependent on you then you can claim those as well. You would complete your tax return and put these amounts under the medical section.
