Investments while an expat? Are they taxable?

I am working abroad and paid by an oversees company and as I understand I am not liable to pay tax in SA as long as I am out of the country for more than 180 odd consecutive days in a year. My question is what about income on investments made abroad in this time, is that also tax free?

If you are out of SA for more than 183 days and 60 of those days are consecutive then yes your income will be tax free as will the investment earnings made from that income which was invested overseas.
