Incorrect Retirement Annuity amount 2008 money owing to SARS?

This year I had a verification done on my tax by SARS and was told that I owe them money due to an incorrect RA amount on my 2008 TAX return . Basically the Rands and cents were done incorrectly. I however still have a communication letter from them for that year in which they requested that I provide proof of this. In the letter it states that if no proof can be submitted the RAF claim will be disallowed. I know I sent in a copy of the Retirement Annuity amount because I had the 2 documents stored together. Should this not have been corrected then? How do I proceed?

You need to get the letter from the fund and go into a SARS branch and speak with them, then you can sort it out there and then without the hassle of call centre people.

I still have the Retirement Annuity Fund statement which they had requested in 2008.What else would I need when I go into the SARS branch and is there a specific department I go to ?

When you get to the front of the queue to the actual desk, tell them you have a complex query, explain that it dates back to 2008 and they will advise you where to go.
